The CMR Nashville posse were all at the ASCAP singer songwriter event at CMR Nashville
The CMR Nashville posse were all at the ASCAP singer songwriter event at CMR Nashville.
Report by Brigid Coady and Lee Williams
John Rich hosted the event and it included Gretchen WIlson, Rivers Rutherford, John Anderson and Craig Wiseman. It was and hour and a half of great acoustic music. Each singer/songwriter had the chance to play a couple of their songs interspersed with typical John Rich-isms which they all met and held their own.
Rivers treated us to among other things a fantastic guitar solo, a new song recently recorded by Van Zant called 'That Scares Me' and of course 'Real Good Man'.
John Rich treated us to an acoustic 'Like We Never Loved At All' which was beautiful, a drinking song and Big & Rich's latest single.
Gretchen Wilson treated us to two songs she co-wrote with Rivers Rutherford that should be on the next album which include "One of the Boys" and a song about men who don't want wives but mothers!! She and John Rich then performed the latest single they have, 'Come to Bed'.
Craig Wiseman, one of the most successful songwriters on the business treated us to some of his number one hits including the Kenny Chesney recorded hit, 'Summertime'. The Brooks & Dunn hit and award winning single 'Believe' and then the daddy of them all... 'Live Like You Were Dying'
The event was interupted by Gretchen Wilson and her producer John Rich being presented with awards to certify Gretchen's debut album 'Here For The Party' going five times platinum.

CMR Nashville Radio at Warner Brothers event!
The CMR Nashville gang were shocked to discover Warner Brothers records were expecting the attendees of CRS 38 to earn their keep before they brought out any of their recording stars. They had put on a karaoke so we could earn our keep. Luckily other people were braver than us.... this is the duo that did a very fine Cowboy Troy!!
